Everybody nowadays seem to have a different set of morals. For some people a certain thing is immoral and for another it seems not to be.
I have noticed however that certain 'groups' have very similar morals, or rather: their morals are unchanging.
But we are taught to believe that everybody indeed has different moral standards.
Where do morals originate from? I have no doubt people say it "evolved". I don't believe that. I think everybody, from birth has a conscience. And certain things a person does will give a person a bad conscious. In this a person can discern between right and wrong. This does not mean of course that children shouldn't be educated.
I also believe that when someone does something immoral, his conscience will warn him against it. However, doing this immoral thing over and over again will make your conscience blunt and eventually there will be nothing in you saying it is wrong. YOU have changed your IDEA of morals yourself then, but the thing you do remains immoral.
But this conscience, I believe, can be weakened by bad education or strengthened by good education. When a person turns to God, the Bible says the Holy Spirit will dawn on him. And this Holy Spirit will be a renewed and strong conscience that will show us wrong and right. That is, at least, what I believe.
And when I mentioned above the 'groups' that had an unchanging set of morals I was indeed talking about believers. Why is their morals unchanging, because it has it's base in a rock. This rock being God, who is unchanging. Even without the Bible, the Holy Spirit inside them will tell them what sin is.
That's my idea about it. I would like to hear yours.
